The jar will last a very long time, as very little is needed. I normally put it on right after a shower or bath, by sticking two fingers in the cream and rubbing into my heel area. If you use your fingers, be sure to wash your hands with soap, as you wouldn't like this product to get in your eye. It has a rather pleasant menthol odor.
